“Why do school libraries need money for books when everything is online? Why do we need a library when students can do their research online? Why do we need librarians if all they do all day is check out books? Those are questions that are commonly asked when the subject turns to school libraries and their necessity for continued funding. And unless that perception changes, the cuts will keep coming.” (School Library Journal)
“Creating Advocacy for Your Library,” a webcast sponsored by Follett Software Company on March 24, looks at the ways that library staff can succesfully promote their programs and services, thereby building the value of the library within their communities. Although the program focuses on school libraries, the information and ideas provided could easily be adapted to libraries of all types.
